Sun & Moon Glass Christmas Ornament – Double-Sided
The sun and moon caught in an eternal embrace. This enchanting glass Christmas ornament depicts two celestial faces gently meeting in a kiss – a timeless symbol of opposites coming together, of day and night, light and darkness.
The ornament is double-sided, with the colours beautifully reversed from one side to the other. On one side, the golden sun comes forward against the deep blue-green moon; turn it around and the moon takes centre stage, surrounded by glowing gold. This recto-verso design makes the ornament particularly striking as it turns among the branches of the Christmas tree.
Traditionally mouth-blown from glass and carefully decorated by hand in the heart of Europe, the ornament has a wonderfully rich, almost antique appearance. Its deep jewel-like colours, softly sculpted faces and subtle lustre evoke the mysterious celestial imagery found in old illustrations and Christmas decorations from times gone by.
